What changes after tooth loss
A gap left untreated does change over time. The teeth on either side can tilt or drift into the space, which affects how your bite meets. The bone that held the root also begins to shrink, most noticeably in the first year, and biting and chewing on that side becomes harder.
None of this means you have to decide quickly. It does mean it’s worth understanding the timeline, because bone volume affects whether an implant is straightforward later on and that’s something we’d talk through at an assessment.
Why implants are a good solution
Dental implants are a fantastic modern solution because they’re fixed securely into your jawbone. A biocompatible titanium screw acts as an artificial root for your new tooth, meaning it stimulates your jaw and prevents any loss of volume or stability.
Implants can be used to replace a single tooth, or several. If you’re missing neighbouring teeth within a row, our specialist can attach a bridge of multiple teeth to as little as two implants. If you have larger gaps, a treatment such as ‘All on 4’ – using four implants to support an arch – is a cost-effective option.

How much do dental implants cost?
The cost of dental implants depends on your individual case and how many implants you need. As a guide, at The Bristol Dental Practice, a single implant costs £3,295. If you require several, we’ll offer a bespoke cost breakdown based on an examination. A bridge – using two implants to support a group of missing teeth starts from £6,995, while ‘All on 4’ is from £15,995.
Spreading the cost of treatment
Cost is one of the main reasons people put off implant treatment, so we offer finance through Tabeo to let you pay in monthly installments rather than upfront.
Treatment can be spread interest-free over 12 months. If you’d prefer longer, interest bearing loans run up to 60 months, and you can calculate your monthly loan repayments before applying using Tabeo’s calculator. Applications are made online and you’ll usually get a decision within minutes. Credit is subject to status and affordability checks, so acceptance isn’t guaranteed.

How do I apply?
Once we recommend a treatment plan and you are happy with it the reception team will discuss payment options with you and send you an email with a link to start your credit application online. The application will require you to answer a few simple questions including details about yourself such as age, home address, income and anything that might affect your monthly expenditure. The application is done entirely online, so it can be completed in-practice or at home. You will receive a decision from Tabeo on whether or not you are approved instantly.
What payment methods can I use?
Your monthly payments are collected from your UK debit card. Unfortunately we cannot accept credit cards or Amex, because this would constitute financing credit with more credit.
When are payments taken?
Payments are taken once a month on a day of your choosing, but the first payment will always be taken upfront. Tabeo will always make sure that there are at least 28 days between your first and your second payment, so in some cases, they might push your second payment to the following month. After your loan starts, you will be able to change your payment day.
What is Tabeo?
Tabeo provides payments solutions for The Bristol Dental Practice and many other healthcare businesses in the UK. Tabeo may also act as credit broker and loan servicer, meaning that your loan will be written and managed entirely through Tabeo.
