Dr Justin Underwood

Justin is an enthusiastic, conscientious, and experienced dental practitioner with a special interest in endodontics (root canal treatments).

He obtained his Intercalated Bachelor of Science (Oral Diseases) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees at Cardiff University (formally University of Wales) qualifying in 2011, and has membership with the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (MFDS RCS).

Justin joined The Bristol Dental Practice in 2024 and works closely with referring dentists aiming to retain natural teeth for as long as possible. He has limited his practice to root canal treatments since 2018 after completing a postgraduate diploma in endodontics (PG Dip) and is currently in his final year of 4 undertaking Endodontic specialist training at Guy’s Hospital, affiliated with King’s College, London. During this time, Justin regularly teaches endodontics to undergraduate dental students with lectures, hands-on classes, and clinical supervision, whilst also teaching qualified dentists in the form of CPD (continual professional development).

In 2020 he was shortlisted as a finalist at the Private Dentistry awards in the category ‘Best Young Dentist – South West’. He is also an active member of the British Endodontic Society (BES).

Using a dental operating microscope, with the latest materials and techniques, Justin is always focused on providing the highest quality treatments whilst striving to ensure patient comfort throughout their treatments.

Justin accepts referrals from dentists in all aspects endodontic care, including re-treatments, file separation, post removal, perforation repair, resorption management and surgical endodontics.
